LEMON PIE

 

1.  Mix together:

¾ cup granulated sugar

2 tablespoons cornstarch

 

2.  Add egg yolks and other ingredients to above:

3 eggs, separated

1 lemon, juice and rind

1 cup sweet milk

 

3.  Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thick.

 

4.  Pour above into pie shell:

1 pie shell

 

5.  Beat together until egg whites stand in peaks:

3 egg whites

3 tablespoons sugar

3 tablespoons water

 

6.  Spread meringue over pie filling.  Place in a cooling oven or 250 degree oven until brown.
